2009 Goals:
Ultimate Goal: To make a living playing golf on both the PGA and European Tours helping people along the way and making a positive impact in the world.
How:
By working hard, setting goals, believing in myself, surrounding myself with the right people, living and playing in the moment, staying fit and following my instincts.
Why:
I want a challenging, exciting life, and to live with passion. Following my dreams and working hard will do this for me.
Intermediate Goal:
Finish top 5 on the 2009 Canadian Tour money list and earn my Nationwide Tour card at the 2009 PGA Q-School.
How:
- Work hard and smart at the right things.
- Stay on the path I have chosen for my golf game.
- Stay in good shape by sticking with a moderate fitness program and eating well.
- Believe in myself with the assistance of self talk, affirmations, and meditation.
- Have a positive productive attitude.
Short Term Goals:
1.) Get my swing to a point where I can trust it under the highest pressure
How:
- Continue to work with Anne Newman and reading the George Knudson book.
- Make my practice count.
- Focus on the target and routine when playing and not swing mechanics.
2.) Become an unbelievable putter
How:
- Keep working on the same things and don't change and search.
- Stick with my putter.
- Consistently work on fundamentals.
- Work on routine and practice under pressure.
- Constantly tell myself that I am the best putter in the world.
3.) Make my short game a strength
How:
- Keep working on the right things with coach Anne.
- Spend 60% of my practice time on the short game.
- Practice super hard shots.
- Practice with pressure.
- Have a great attitude with the short game.
- Practice, practice, practice.
4.) Stay in good shape and continue to get stronger
How:
- Stick with my fitness program.
- Eat healthy and get plenty of consistent rest.
- Breathing exercises, meditation, and stretching work together.
- Live and play in the moment.
- Treat my body as a temple and feed it the right fuel.
